Plans are underway to commemorate the part played by soldiers from the Saint-Quentin Regiment in a little-known battle that proved to be a forerunner to the last 100 days of the First World War.
Turnout at last night’s local election was higher than in previous years with the Council talking part in a pilot new scheme that required residents to produce ID in order to vote.
